Enterprise security systems — service, repair, programming and support

Legal

Website Terms

The terms that apply to reading and using this website. They do not replace a service agreement, and they are not the terms under which work is performed.

Review required before launch

These terms are a starting template. They must be reviewed by the business owner and, where required, by legal counsel before this site goes live.

Any statement that does not match actual practice must be corrected before publication.

Last updated: (date to be entered at publication).

Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the site.

These terms apply to the website only. They create no service relationship, no obligation to perform work, and no undertaking to respond to any message sent through the site.

Content is general information, not technical advice

Everything published here describes categories of work in general terms. It is written to help a reader understand what the service covers and how it is approached. It is not technical advice for a specific system, site or fault.

Enterprise security systems differ by version, configuration, integration, firmware level and the network they sit on. A procedure that is correct on one installation can be wrong or unsafe on another. Nothing on this site should be used as instructions for work on a live system, and nothing here should be relied on in place of an assessment of the actual installation by a competent technician.

We work to keep the information accurate and current, but we give no warranty that it is accurate, complete or up to date. Product names, platform capabilities and version behaviour change, and pages may lag behind those changes. Any reliance you place on the content of this site is at your own risk.

Intellectual property

The text, artwork, photography, illustrations, layout, design and code of this website are owned by SKYFAL SECURITY SYSTEMS INCORPORATED or used under licence, and are protected by Canadian and international copyright law.

You may view pages, print them and share links for your own business use. You may not copy, republish, adapt, resell or systematically extract material from this site, or use it to train a commercial model, without written permission. Automated scraping of the site is not permitted.

The Skyfal Security name and logo are our marks. Requests to use them, including by an integrator describing a working relationship, should be sent through the contact page and answered in writing before any use.

Third-party names and trademarks

Manufacturer names, product names, platform names and logos referred to on this site are the trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective owners.

They are used only to describe the systems on which we perform service, which is a factual description of our work. Their appearance on this site does not imply authorization, certification, endorsement, dealership, partnership or any other relationship between those owners and Skyfal Security, and none should be inferred.

Skyfal Security is an independent service company. Where a manufacturer relationship, authorization or certification is genuinely held, it will be stated explicitly and named. In the absence of such a statement, no relationship exists.

Availability and limitation of liability

This site is provided as it is and as available. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error free, free of harmful components, or accessible at any particular time. Pages may be changed, moved or withdrawn without notice, and the site may be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SKYFAL SECURITY SYSTEMS INCORPORATED is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss or damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, this website or anything published on it. This includes lost profits, lost data, business interruption and the cost of substitute services, whether the claim is framed in contract, tort, negligence or otherwise, and whether or not we were advised that such loss was possible.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Links to third-party sites

This site may link to websites operated by other organizations, including manufacturers, standards bodies and industry publications. Those links are provided for reference.

We do not control those sites, do not review their content on an ongoing basis, and are not responsible for their material, their availability, their security or their privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement. When you follow a link away from this site, the terms and privacy policy of the destination apply, not ours.

Service engagements are governed by a separate agreement

Nothing on this website is an offer, a quotation, a commitment to perform work, or a warranty of any service outcome. Descriptions of scope, process, coverage and response are general and illustrative.

Actual service work is governed by a separate written agreement between Skyfal Security and the client: a signed quotation, a purchase order accepted in writing, a service agreement, or a master services agreement. That written agreement sets out scope, pricing, coverage hours, response targets, exclusions, warranty and liability.

Where anything on this website conflicts with that written agreement, the written agreement prevails. See service agreements for how coverage is normally structured.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms at any time. The revised version takes effect when it is posted on this page, and the date at the top records when it last changed.

Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms. If you use this site regularly for reference, it is worth checking this page from time to time.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in it. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from this website, and you agree to that jurisdiction.

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in force.

Questions about these terms should be sent to support@skyfalsecurity.com or through the contact page. The operator of this site is SKYFAL SECURITY SYSTEMS INCORPORATED, at 5063 North Service Rd Burlington, ON L7L 5H6 CANADA. See also our privacy policy and accessibility statement.
